Sometimes I just need a break from the norm. Believe it or not, even though I love to code and develop cool web applications or other gadgets, I do occasionally get bored with it. Normally when this happens I will try to find something more interesting to do for awhile… like; Finding something interesting to read or research, take a long nap (or several) (go ahead Darlin, say it!), get outside away from the computers (somewhere without WIFI), or on occasion create something different.

Since a great deal of my career has involved graphics development I have had my share of experience with many great tools. A few of my favorites are:

• Photoshop
• Poser
• Vue

I created the photo below using all three. The background and trees were created and rendered in Vue. The Unicorn and the female character were created, posed and rendered using Poser. The final image was composited in Photoshop and details added using various brushes (light effects, grass/weeds, etc) and hand corrections.

I will post others as time permits.

Goodbye Unicorn Isle No Comments

I started writing this post a few months back, it was originally to be titled “Happy Birthday Unicorn Isle” to celebrate the 1 year birthday of our Second Life Home. For some reason I never finished this writing.

Unfortunately for the past several months i have been struggling with making this decision, and it really saddens me to say, but Unicorn Isle is no more. On the early AM of July 31, 2008, Unicorn Isle was renamed and transferred to its new owners.

Myself and Darlin Oh have made Unicorn Isle our home for the past year and four months. We both spent most of our time there, building the sim and spending time together. It was personal, never business. It was a very special place to the both of us (as well as to a few close friends). We will miss it (and already do).

Hopefully some day we will be fortunate enough to build another “Unicorn Isle” together.

Welcome to my Blog!

After debating with myself for the last year or so I have finally decided it is time to have my own space to discuss and or rant about various things Second Life and Real Life. I would also like to share various creations of mine and possibly even help the Second Life community (or further educate myself) through help with LSL, SL Building and other SL related topics.

I chose to use my Second Life name for this blog since a great deal of my time goes into developing and working on various Second Life projects.
