In Second Life, I am known by the avatar name of Bleys Chevalier. In real life, I am Don Cramer of Columbus, Ohio.
I am a professional Web Developer, Programmer, Graphics Designer/Artist and System Administrator. I have nearly 30 years of experience working with computers (since I was a very young boy) and for the last 15 years I have done so professionally.
I first entered Second Life in the later part of 2006 (under a different avatar name, which is now an alt). If it were not for a few colleagues of mine I would of probably never given Second Life a second thought. A year and a half later, I am, for the most part, addicted to the platform.
A good deal of my focus for the past year has been towards building and creating Second Life Builds, Products and Second Life to Web Applications. Notable builds include “The Wall” (SLURL) (The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall), “Skin Island” and my own sim “Unicorn Isle” ( built with my Second Life partner, Darlin Oh).
SL Products and Applications include SLTweets, Chevalier Web Based Vending System (soon to be released commercially), Chevalier AVRadar/Chat Spy Radar and many other Second Life products (visit SLExchange.com to view some of my items for sale).
I am, presently, working with Meme Science on various projects as well as collaborating with other companies/individuals creating both Second Life and Real Life related products and services.
From the “About Us” page of Meme Science:
“Don Cramer is a seasoned hand at Web development fluent in a multitude of languages including Php, Mysql, HTML, XML, JavaScript, AJAX , and PERL. In addition he is also gifted with professional graphics development, web graphical development, GUI construction, interactive web applications as well as Windows programming using C++, C# and PERL.
His latest forays include mastery of LSL Programming, Web to SL and SL to Web integration. Prior to Meme Science he spent over a decade as senior developer for with MSA Tech that includes stints consulting for a number of companies on server deployment and security, specialty coding projects and other data oriented roles. He has also pursued and developed a tool for agent detection and analysis and has spent the last year as Meme Science’s CTO.”
I will be using this blog to post and discuss various topics concerning both Second Life, as well as, “real life” products and projects I am working on, maybe a rant here or there. I will also be sharing photos or other creations I have made as well as helping others if I can.
